Week 7 - System Configuration and Hardware Troubleshooting

7th On-The-Job Training week March 17, 2025 - March 21, 2025

Another week of hands-on experience in IT maintenance and troubleshooting has passed, and my tasks have been heavily focused on configuring computer units, replacing peripherals, and cloning drives for updates. Additionally, I assisted in fixing various devices, including printers and laptops, which expanded my troubleshooting skills. Here’s a breakdown of my activities this week:

Day 1: Configuring and Troubleshooting Computer Units

I began the week by continuing the configuration of computer units in Computer Laboratory 2204, ensuring that all systems were properly set up and ready for use. Throughout the day, I troubleshooted and fixed several computer units with issues and assisted the CSIT department’s computer technician in repairing a laptop.

Day 2: Cloning Drives and Replacing Defective Peripherals

My tasks for the day revolved around cloning SSDs and hard drives to keep systems updated. Additionally, I replaced defective peripherals in Computer Laboratory 2204, such as keyboards and mice, to ensure that each unit was fully functional. I also helped fix a printer from the student organization's office.

Day 3: Cloning Drives and Pulling Out Units for Updates

Once again, I continued the essential task of cloning SSDs and hard drives for system updates. I also pulled out computer units from Computer Laboratory 2101 for checking and updating. Aside from technical tasks, I assisted faculty members by delivering documents to the appropriate offices.

Day 4: More Cloning and Printer Troubleshooting

The cloning of SSDs and hard drives remained a priority as I worked on updating more computer units. I also assisted in fixing another printer from the student organization's office, further improving my troubleshooting skills in printer maintenance.

Day 5: Finalizing Drive Installations and Printer Repairs

To wrap up the week, I continued cloning SSDs and hard drives, pulled out and installed drives in Computer Laboratory 2101, and helped the CSIT department’s computer technician fix a faulty printer from the faculty office.

This week has strengthened my skills in configuring and troubleshooting various IT equipment. The experience of replacing defective peripherals, pulling out and installing drives, and fixing printers allowed me to expand my technical knowledge. With each task, I am becoming more confident in handling IT maintenance, and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead in the coming weeks!
