Week 14 - Final Week of Learning, Service, and Farewell
14th On-The-Job Training week May 5, 2025 - May 9, 2025
As I closed the final chapter of my 14-week On-the-Job Training journey, this last week was both productive and meaningful. I spent these last few days wrapping up essential documentation tasks, assisting with a major academic event, and ensuring that the computer laboratories were left in excellent condition. It was a week of reflection, service, and gratitude.
Day 1: Labeling and Verification in Lab 2101
I began the week by placing printed PC identification sheets on every computer unit in Computer Laboratory 2101. I meticulously cross-checked each sheet to ensure that the specifications and PC numbers matched the actual units. After labeling, I conducted functionality checks on all units to confirm they were operational. I also assisted the CSIT department’s technician in repairing a faulty printer and supported a faculty member with some paperwork-related tasks.
Day 2: Continuing the Task and Attending a Seminar
My labeling and verification task continued in Lab 2102, following the same process to ensure accuracy and functionality of the units. In the afternoon, I had the opportunity to attend a seminar on Intellectual Property Awareness led by the Intellectual Property Management Division of the OVPRDE. Later, I helped with preparations for the BUCS Student Research and Development Forum 2025, which was scheduled for the next day.
Day 3: BUCS Student Research and Development Forum 2025
The day started early with preparing the computer labs that would be used during the forum. I then proceeded to help facilitate the event at the BUCS Function Hall, assisting in smooth coordination before managing the lab assigned to me. After the event concluded, I began returning the computer units moved for the event back to their proper places, ensuring everything was back in order.
Day 4: Wrapping Up More Labs
I continued returning computers to their original placements. Then, I moved on to labeling and verifying units in Labs 2201 and 2202, checking each PC identification sheet against the actual hardware specs and numbers. Once labeling was done, I ensured that all units in those labs were working properly.
Day 5: Final Tasks and Farewells
My final day of OJT was spent labeling and verifying PC identification sheets in Labs 2203 and 2204. I also conducted a final functionality check of all units in Labs 2203, 2204, and 2105. I took care of some networking tasks and, before officially concluding my OJT, I had a touching moment taking a photo with my mentor, supervisor, and faculty members a perfect memory to cap off a rewarding training experience.
Week 14 was a blend of responsibility and sentiment. From ensuring accurate documentation to supporting a major academic event, I was proud to contribute meaningfully to my final days. The experience I gained technically and professionally has laid a strong foundation for my future in IT. I'm sincerely grateful to the CSIT department and everyone who mentored and supported me throughout this journey.
