Week 13 - Final Push for PC Identification and Troubleshooting

13th On-The-Job Training week April 28, 2025 - May 2, 2025

As I approach the end of my On-the-Job Training, Week 13 proved to be another productive and technically engaging chapter. Despite a shortened workweek due to a holiday, I made significant progress in conducting PC identification and resolving hardware/software issues in multiple computer laboratories and offices.

Day 1: PC Inventory and Troubleshooting in Lab 2204

I began the week in Computer Laboratory 2204, where I conducted PC identification—recording component specifications such as the processor, RAM, storage, and motherboard details for each unit. Alongside this, I also troubleshooted faulty units, addressing startup failures and connectivity problems.

Day 2: Continued Work in Lab 2204

I continued both PC identification and troubleshooting tasks in the same lab. Diagnosing and resolving hardware problems helped ensure the lab's readiness for student use, especially those experiencing system crashes or power-related issues.

Day 3: Shift to Lab 2203 and External Assistance

Midweek, I shifted focus to Computer Laboratory 2203, starting the same process of inventory and troubleshooting. In addition to my lab tasks, I assisted the CSIT department’s technician in troubleshooting a faulty computer unit from the ICT Office, further expanding my hands-on experience outside the labs.

Day 4: Lab 2203 and a Call from the Meteorology Department

I wrapped up the week by continuing my tasks in Lab 2203. Later in the day, I was called to assist in troubleshooting a computer from the Meteorology Department, where I re-installed its operating system after diagnosing an irrecoverable software issue.

Week 13 offered me a rich blend of technical diagnostics and system restoration. I appreciated the variety of environments I got to work in, and each troubleshooting case added to my growing confidence and adaptability in real-world IT support scenarios. With only a little time left in my OJT, I look forward to making the most of the final stretch.
