Week 10 - Another Round of Disk Updates and Device Support

10th On-The-Job Training week April 7, 2025 - April 11, 2025

This week was slightly shorter due to a holiday, but it was still packed with meaningful tasks that further honed my technical skills—particularly in disk management, system configuration, and operating system upgrades. Working consistently with the CSIT department's technician also allowed me to expand my knowledge and apply what I’ve learned so far in the field.

Day 1: Starting the Disk Work in Lab 2202

I kicked off the week by pulling out disk drives from computer units in Computer Laboratory 2202 in preparation for updates. I also continued the ongoing process of cloning SSDs and hard drives to ensure all units would be updated with the latest configuration. Later in the day, I assisted the CSIT department's technician in fixing a printer, which added a nice variety to my tasks.

Day 2: Reinstallation, Configuration, and Laptop Upgrade

On the second day, I focused on reinstalling and configuring updated disk drives into the computers in Lab 2202. I also pulled out additional drives that were scheduled for cloning. A unique task assigned to me was to reformat and upgrade a laptop to Windows 11, which gave me a good refresher on OS installation procedures and ensuring compatibility with updated systems.

Day 3: Continuation of Disk Management

This day was a continuation of what has become a core routine: cloning drives, reinstalling them, and configuring the newly installed ones in Lab 2202. While repetitive, the process helped me gain efficiency and accuracy in hardware handling and system configuration.

Day 4: Wrapping Up the Week with Consistency

I ended the week with the same level of focus and consistency, continuing the cloning, reinstallation, and configuration of drives in Lab 2202. The routine tasks allowed me to fine-tune my attention to detail and develop a rhythm in managing multiple system updates at once.

Though it was a 4-day workweek, the tasks I completed felt rewarding and technically enriching. Being consistent in cloning, installing, and configuring drives across multiple labs not only improved my speed and accuracy but also strengthened my confidence in handling repetitive yet essential tasks. The opportunity to upgrade a laptop to Windows 11 was a refreshing break from the routine and added to my practical experience in system upgrades.
